Do I need anything special before I can send texts or buy a phone number?
Yes. For compliance:
- Buying a phone number or sending texts may require third-party ID verification via Persona (e.g., driver’s license + photo).
- Text messaging also requires A2P 10DLC registration, which includes a one-time submission fee plus a monthly fee per campaign billed through The Campaign Registry (TCR) and carriers.
How does A2P 10DLC compliance and billing work?
Registration is required before texting.
Fees include an initial submission + monthly per-campaign charges.
Carrier pass-through rates apply per message.
